Religion School for 5 - 11 yrs
It is so important that children have an enjoyable experience as they become active Jewish adults. We offer a structured curriculum every Saturday morning during term-time for learning Hebrew and Jewish Studies. Children also participate in a short Shacharit (morning) service, after joining the procession around the synagogue behind the Torah scroll and receiving a blessing from the Rabbi.
Please contact the Director of Education to find out more information.
Bar/Bat Mitzvah Programme
Our Springboard (Makpetzah) into Jewish adulthood prepares boys and girls to become B'nei Mitzvah, around their 13th birthday or some time afterwards, depending on their readiness and confidence with Hebrew reading in preparation for leading the service and reading their Torah portion.
The "Learning Ladder" consists of one-off group sessions, one-to-one teaching as well as sessions which run over a number of weeks. The variety of topics and timetabling is designed to meet your needs, whether you are a newcomer to Jewish Learning or someone who would like to develop previous interests and to suit whatever time you have available.
A learning space for the whole community, this programme covers a different topic each month. There are cross-generational and also age specific activities.
School and Group Visits
We are delighted to host sessions for any school as well as adult groups who wish to learn more about synagogues and Judaism. We can tailor your visit to suit the needs and interests of participants, be they school groups with specific curriculum requirements or interested adult groups.
