Sinai Synagogue home page

As you know, so that we can continue to keep us all safe, we decided to hold services virtually instead of in the Synagogue. There will still be all kinds of streamed services and other activities throughout the High Holy Days. You will soon receive detailed information about what is planned but also, keep checking the Sinai website, Facebook page and Newsletter.

We really want everyone to be able to fully participate in the services.  So if you don’t have your own Machsorim (prayer books) for Rosh Hashannah, Yom Kippur services and for the Pilgrimage Festivals (Sukkot and Simchat Torah), you can borrow them from Sinai.  The books will be available to pick up from Sinai on 6th and 7th September  between 11.00am and 3.00pm. We do hope you will take advantage of this offer so that you can feel as much part of the congregation as you would if we were all together in the Synagogue.

We are not asking for a set rental fee for Machsorim but we do encourage you to make a donation, and will tell you how you can do that.

Please note that to follow along easier with every aspect of the services we do  advise you to use an actual Machsor  as the online Machsorim are a newer version of the standard HHD editions and the pages differ.

We will need to allocate collection time slots to everyone and will ensure all the necessary safety arrangements. So, if you want to borrow a Machsor, please reply to this email by 23rd August This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Please tell us:

  • your full name
  • number of Rosh Hashannah/Yom Kippur Machsorim required
  • number of Pilgrimage festival Machsorim required.

and we will reply with your time slot, details on how to collect your order ensuring the safety of all concerned and information about how to make a donation.

We hope you continue to stay safe and well
