Parashat Mishpatim has plenty of strict rules (mishpatim) on everything from slavery to married life. As we grapple with these, our services for 28 & 29 January will also include uplifting tunes for the approaching joyful month of Adar I, plus a short study session (after Shabbat morning kiddush) investigating how the Torah portion affects Jewish attitudes to ear piercings.
