Equality between the sexes, family seating, a critical and passionate engagement with our historic texts, a continued conversation between tradition and modern life and a call to social justice are firmly embedded in our community life. Men and women take equal part in our religious services and in synagogue leadership. We wrestle with our understanding of God, Torah and mitzvot (the commandments) in our limmud (learning) programming and interact in the wider world through tikkun olam (social justice) and interfaith work.

The World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ), established in London in 1926, is the international umbrella organisation of the Reform, Liberal, Progressive and Reconstructionist movements, serving 1,200 congregations with 1.8 million members in more than 50 countries.
